LOT’S WIFE LOOKED BACK
By: Derrick P. Rodgers

Lot’s wife ended up like the citizens of Sodom, [she was turned into ash or salt] destroyed in the judgement of Sodom and Gomorrah. While she physically was out of the city and she thought she was escaping, her heart connection to the “world of Sodom and Gomorrah” activated her disobedience and caused her to look back producing her inevitable demise.

Likewise there are many Christians that are in “churches” today that view them as “sanctuary cities.” Nonetheless, their hearts are still connected to the world. This is evident by their “worldly composite” and continual practice of disobedience towards God’s Word. If we fail to repent of such behavior, we will become the recipients of God’s judgement that is intended for the world.

“Then the LORD rained down fire and burning sulfur from the sky on Sodom and Gomorrah. He utterly destroyed them, along with the other cities and villages of the plain, wiping out all the people and every bit of vegetation. But Lot’s wife looked back as she was following behind him, and she turned into a pillar of salt.” [Genesis 19:24-26]
