Counter Prophecy

While many are prophesying “revival” and “the season of your dreams” to the church, I counter prophesy and say that “within the next 5 to 10 years, if the church continue on its current trajectory of personal empowerment, self-enrichment, and lust for prosperity, the majority will formulate by default, into a hyper-elite organization of pure ‘self driven members’ that has completely evolved into serving a false utility god, that despises the notion of self-denial and sacrifice. The cravings of self-opulence will reach such heighten levels, that deception, which was commonly discerned in times past, will not only be concealed to participating members but celebrated by those who follow the broad way of ultimate self-gratification.

Now is the time to break ranks with the self-empowerment doctrine and prosperity demagogues and deny yourself, take up your cross, follow and return to him [Jesus Christ] before the seduction of self opulence sifts you as wheat by its pervasive threshing methods of greed, compromise and cultural correctness and prepares you to usher in one of the most rebellious movements against God in the near future.”

Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift each of you like wheat. [Luke 22:31]

Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your cross, and follow me. [Matthew 16:24]

If anyone teaches otherwise and does not consent to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which accords with godliness, he is proud, knowing nothing, but is obsessed with disputes and arguments over words, from which come envy, strife, reviling, evil suspicions, useless wranglings of men of corrupt minds and destitute of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of gain. From such withdraw yourself.

Now godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content. But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. [I Timothy 6:3-10]
